FACT CHECK · THE CAPTIVES: DEALS, TREATMENT, AND WHO BLOCKED WHAT
Claim: CNN says Israel killed 24 of 40 hostages
MISLEADINGTHE ANSWER
CNN's own split: 11 of the 40 died in Israeli strikes or ground operations. Nearly half were killed by their captors. The "24" counts murders by Hamas that came after an Israeli move nearby.
