Claim: A medieval ruling on forcing a wife
CONTEXTTHE ANSWER
Maimonides (12th c.) did write it (Ishut 21:10). His contemporary Ra'avad objected he had never heard of it, and the Rema (EH 154:3) rules a man who hits his wife sins and courts may punish him.
