Claim: 'Pilpul' is a Jewish trick to derail debates
FALSETHE ANSWER
Pilpul is a Talmud study method: close analysis to resolve contradictions between texts, developed in Polish yeshivas in the 1500s. Calling it a trick to derail debates is an antisemitic trope.
